Nominations

Nominations are considered by the Committee on Honorary Degrees and recommendations made to the Academic Council, and then to the Board of Trustees, usually one full year preceding the presentation of the award.  Current Duke faculty, employees, and members of the Board of Trustees are not eligible to receive an honorary degree.

The most successful nominations are thorough and demonstrate the relationship between the nominee and the University and its endeavors.
