Office of the Vice President and University Secretary

The University Secretary, Richard V. Riddell,  serves as the liaison between the administration and the Trustees.  The University Secretary and his staff prepare the agenda for Board of Trustees meetings, prepare and maintain Minutes of all Board meetings, and maintain the University Bylaws, and the Secretary is the custodian of the seal of the corporation.

The Vice President and University Secretary also serves as Special Assistant to the President of the University, functioning as chief of staff to the President; oversees the Office of Special  Events and University Ceremonies; serves as the University’s Emergency Coordinator, chairing the Emergency Management Council; oversees the process for selecting honorary degree recipients and winners of the University Medal; and oversees senior-level administrative searches and reviews.

The Office of the Vice President and University Secretary is located at 217 Allen Building.
